Below we’ll run through a few of the most prominent features of the MyDrive Connect app.

What is MyDrive Connect?

The TomTom MyDrive Connect is the primary app for updating the maps and software of your GPS devices. You can also use this app to purchase maps, update your subscription, or change settings in your account. The app features intuitive controls and a user-friendly interface to make your driving experience more convenient and fun.

The software is free to download and works on both Windows and macOS. To use the app, you will require an internet connection and your TomTom online account.

Features of MyDrive Connect

Managing your Account Maps

Another great feature of MyDrive Connect is that you can update your existing maps from the “My Content” menu section. Here, you will be provided with 3 options; Uninstall, Install, and Change.

To save some space, it is recommended to uninstall the maps that you no longer wish to use. Don’t worry, these maps will be secured in your account and you can always download and reinstall them at a later date.

Another great option to ensure you’re not short of storage is to download maps with fewer 3D features like buildings and signals. Also, if your device supports a memory card, then you can download the map to your card and import it to your device only when needed.

Easy to follow UI

The app interface is easy to follow and doesn’t drag you down with unnecessary options to confuse you. The app automatically shows a tutorial wizard as soon as you connect it with your device. We highly recommend following this tutorial wizard, particularly for newbies. You can always come back to the tutorial if you get stuck with the app in future.

The functionality of MyDrive Connect is less than that of TomTom Home, however, the reason for this is that many of the functionalities in TomTom Home are already available on your satnav device.

Helps you make purchases

Buying new maps, speed camera updates, new voices and accessories is now possible with the MyDrive Connect app. There are quick links available at the bottom of the home screen that redirects you to individual pages. Here you can find additional product lineups from TomTom.

Access Support Material

Not all of us are tech-savvy and might require assistance from time to time. Although you can directly search for the support material from any internet browser, the quick links can be found on the MyDrive Connect app as well.

Automatic Updates

The app lets you automatically update your satnav devices as soon as you connect them with the USB port. It is recommended to update your device every day so that you’ll get the latest data from TomTom.
