About logo makers

Solo owners, streamers and hobbyists use them to get a recognizable mark quickly, such as a storefront logo or an avatar that reads at small sizes, without paying a designer or waiting on revisions. Template libraries give a starting point to rearrange, which is fast but can leave you close to designs other people also use. Generators that build a mark from your input give more unusual results with less control over the details. Editors with vector tools offer the most freedom and the steepest learning curve.

What to look for

  • Check what file types you can export, because a logo needs to work as a large sign and as a tiny profile picture.
  • Look at whether the icon and wordmark can be moved and resized separately, since a fixed arrangement limits where the logo can go.
  • Find out how the app earns its money, such as charging for the final download or for removing a watermark, so the free preview is not mistaken for the finished file.
  • Confirm that you keep the rights to use the design commercially, which matters if the logo goes on products you sell.
  • Consider whether editing continues after export or stops once the file is saved, as later changes to colors or wording are common.

How we rank

Apps are ranked by their Google Play rating (weighted by how many people rated them), their number of installs, how recently they were updated and how closely they fit the category. Only apps we've reviewed are included.
