Phone Cleaner

Review by eFreeware

If your phone's storage bar keeps creeping toward full and you have never been comfortable with cleaners that delete first and explain later, Phone Cleaner is built for that hesitation. It is a free Android tool from Omareyah Team that walks through storage, junk files, photos, running apps, battery details and speaker cleaning tools, showing you what it found before anything is removed. The pitch is simple: you decide what goes.

That approach appeals to me more than a one-tap sweep. The app is listed at no cost, carries ads, and has no in-app purchases, so there is nothing to buy once it is on your phone. With more than 100,000 installs and a 4.1 average from around 700 ratings, it has a modest but real audience rather than a huge one, which fits a utility that does a handful of jobs and does not pretend to do everything.

Reviewing before removing

The part the developer leads with is the review step. Phone Cleaner presents the items it has found, and the cleanup actions it supports then apply to whatever you have selected. You stay in control of what gets chosen. For anyone who has accidentally wiped a folder of photos with a careless tap, that pause is the whole point of the app.

I would expect this to suit people who like to see the list, uncheck a few things and only then proceed. It is a slower rhythm than an automatic cleaner, but it is also the reason the app exists. The trade-off is that you are the one making the calls, so a little attention is required each time you run it.

What the app covers is broad for a free tool: storage, junk files, photos, apps that are currently running, battery information and tools for cleaning the speaker. Each of those is a review surface rather than a magic button, which is consistent with the way the app is described.

The supporting tools

Beyond junk and storage, the app looks at photos, so you can go through images as part of the same cleanup pass instead of hunting through your gallery separately. It also lists running apps, which is useful context when you are trying to work out what is occupying the phone at a given moment.

Battery information rounds out the set, giving you a read on the phone's power state alongside the cleanup tools. There is also a speaker cleaning function, which is an unusual addition for this category and one I would treat as a small extra rather than the reason to install the app.

Every feature is free, and the app costs nothing to download. Ads are present, which is the cost of that arrangement.

What the app needs from your phone

What the app can clean depends on your device, Android version and permissions. In practice that means some of the review surfaces or cleanup actions may not appear on every phone, and the permissions you allow shape what the app can see and do. If you decline a permission, the corresponding part of the app may be limited.

That caveat matters because a cleaner is only as useful as the access it has. Before installing, it is worth deciding whether you are comfortable with the permissions the app may request on your particular device and Android version. If you are, the free download keeps the commitment low.

There are no subscriptions or paid tiers, and the app is free with ads. The main thing you are spending is your attention during each review pass.

A practical fit for clutter-prone phones

My advice is to run it when you actually notice a problem: storage filling up, a gallery that has gotten out of hand, or a phone that feels busier than it should. Going through the list deliberately, rather than accepting everything, is how the app is designed to be used and where its value sits.

It shows items first, so it doubles as a quick audit. You can look at what is taking up space and what is running without committing to deletion, then come back when you have decided. That makes it a reasonable fit for people who want visibility more than automation.

For a free, ad-supported utility with a 4.1 average, the offering is clear: a set of review tools for storage, junk, photos, running apps, battery and the speaker, with the final decision left to you. If that division of labor sounds right, it is easy to try.
