Getting across a city, sending a parcel, renting a scooter and ordering dinner usually means juggling four or five separate apps. Yandex Go tries to collapse that list into one place. It is published by Mikromobilnost LLC Belgrade and sits in the Maps & Navigation category on Google Play.
The app has been around a long time, first released in October 2011, and it has built a large audience: more than 100 million installs and a 4.8 average from over 14.6 million ratings. It is free to download, with no ads and no in-app purchases.
What makes it interesting is not any single feature but the range. Rides, delivery, scooters, carsharing, food and shopping all live behind one interface, which is a different proposition from an app that does one of those things well and stops there.
Ride classes for almost any trip
Rides are the core of the app, and the developer splits them into service classes rather than offering one generic car. Economy covers ordinary errands and short hops. Comfort and Comfort+ add legroom for people who want a calmer trip. Minivan handles larger groups, airport runs and luggage such as skis or bicycles. Carpool is the discount option that shares the ride with other users, and City to City is built for journeys between cities.
City to City is the one I would single out for anyone who travels between towns regularly. The developer describes it as a direct trip without extra stops or transfers, and it can be scheduled ahead of time, which the app presents as a way to pay less.
Families can use the With Kids option to book a car with child seats suited to different ages. Those classes require drivers to pass an extra exam on carrying children.
At the top end, the Ultima range covers Business, Premier, Elite and Cruise. Premier and Elite use flagship cars with highly rated drivers, while Cruise is a business-class option for larger groups. Drivers are screened face to face and checked on service standards, and the developer says they will open the door and take requests about route, music and cabin temperature.
Couriers, scooters and a full carsharing fleet
Delivery works for both small and bulky items. You can have a courier collect a repaired printer, move documents to a contractor, or take away a couch you have sold, and a cargo truck is available when the load is too big for a car. Couriers arrive for pickup in about 15 minutes.
Scooter rental is built in as well. The yellow Yandex Go scooters operate in Moscow, Zelenograd, St. Petersburg, Krasnodar, Nizhny Novgorod, Yekaterinburg, Tula, Kaluga, Adler and other cities. Up to three scooters can be rented from a single account, Minute Bundles bring the per-ride cost down, and a Yandex Plus subscription covers free unlocks.
Carsharing is the other major piece. The fleet is described as more than 16,000 vehicles across over 18 models, and you can drive inside or outside the city or use the Drive option for transporting large items. A separate My Car section helps you find fuel, car wash and charging spots for your own vehicle.
Food, shopping and travel in the same app
Food delivery draws on both independent restaurants and popular chains, with the range running from snacks and soup to khachapuri, wok dishes, sushi, pizza and vegan options. Signature restaurant orders go through Yandex Eats Ultima.
Yandex Market brings shopping into the same account. You can browse dozens of categories, search for a specific item or pick a category, add things to a cart, place an order and follow its status without leaving the app. If you already started a cart in the standalone Yandex Market app, that order shows up here so you can finish checkout, and if something is out of stock the app will suggest similar products at roughly the same price.
Travel is present in some cities through Yandex Travel, which covers hotel bookings and tickets for planes, trains and intercity buses. There is also a transport section for public transit: bus, tram and commuter train schedules, route comparisons, nearby stops and transfer options. This part is available in some cities for now.
Plus points tie the services together. You collect cashback points on Comfort, Comfort+ and Ultima rides and on orders in Lavka, Yandex Eats and Yandex Market, then spend them across various Yandex services.
What the app asks of you
The download itself costs nothing, and there are no ads or in-app purchases attached to the app. That does not make every service free, though. The app is the place where you book and pay for them.
Geography is the bigger constraint: the developer is explicit that availability of services and options varies by region. Scooters are listed for specific Russian cities, the transport schedules are limited to some cities, and Yandex Travel is only in certain places.
So before installing, the sensible question is not whether the app is good but whether the services you want actually run where you are. Someone in a covered city gets a genuinely broad toolkit; someone outside one may find only part of it works.
Getting the most from one account
The design rewards consolidation. Because Market orders, food, rides and scooters sit under one account, it makes sense to run everyday tasks through the app rather than spreading them across separate services, especially if you are already collecting Plus points on eligible rides and orders.
For repeat trips, the scheduling options are worth using. City to City can be booked in advance and is presented as cheaper, and planning an airport run or a group trip in a Minivan ahead of time avoids scrambling later.
If you rent scooters often, Minute Bundles and the Yandex Plus free-unlock perk are the two ways to keep costs down. For larger jobs, remember that the delivery side covers cargo trucks, not just couriers, so furniture and bulky items are within scope.
Families should look at the With Kids classes before booking, since the child seats and the extra driver exam are specific to those service classes rather than standard across the fleet.
A broad toolkit for supported cities
Yandex Go is best understood as a single front door to a group of paid services rather than one app that does one thing. Rides across several classes, courier and cargo delivery, scooter rental, carsharing, restaurant food, market shopping and, in some places, travel booking all live in one app.
It suits people who live in or regularly visit a city where those services operate and who would rather manage them in one place. The 4.8 average from a very large number of ratings suggests the formula works for a lot of users, though that figure reflects the app as a whole rather than any single service inside it.
If you are outside the covered regions, the value drops sharply, because availability varies by region.
The short verdict
A free, wide-ranging app that suits people in supported cities who want rides, delivery and shopping under one account.

Yandex Go: Taxi Food Delivery: frequently asked questions
What can I actually do in the Yandex Go app?
You can book car and scooter rides, courier and cargo delivery, carsharing, restaurant food delivery, and shopping through Yandex Market, and in some cities hotel and ticket booking through Yandex Travel. The app also shows public transport schedules, routes and nearby stops where that feature is available.
How do the With Kids rides work?
You pick the With Kids section and book a car with child seats for different age groups. Drivers in these classes must pass an extra child-transport exam. The seats are tied to those classes rather than being standard across the fleet.
Does Yandex Go cost anything to use?
The app is free to download and carries no ads or in-app purchases. Plus points earned on eligible rides and orders can be spent across various Yandex services.
Can I use the app outside Russia?
Availability of services and options varies by region. The scooters are listed for specific cities including Moscow, St. Petersburg, Krasnodar, Nizhny Novgorod, Yekaterinburg, Tula, Kaluga and Adler, and the public transport schedules and Yandex Travel are limited to some cities as well. Outside covered areas, only part of the app may work.
How does Yandex Market shopping work inside the app?
You can browse dozens of categories or search for a specific item, add products to a cart, place an order and track its status in the app. An order started in the standalone Yandex Market app shows up in Yandex Go, so you can finish checkout there. When an item is out of stock, the app offers similar products at roughly the same price.
