How to download the E*TRADE APP

The E*TRADE app is a great way to trade stocks, options, ETFs or mutual funds using your mobile device. It provides you with real-time quotes as well as an electronic view of all customer accounts. You can use this platform for placing trades on the go anytime, anywhere.

The E*TRADE app is available for both the Apple and Android devices – download it here or search for it on your device’s app store and download it directly from there.

The app is very user-friendly and easy to navigate. It offers a variety of features including:

  • Real time quotes; price alerts (you can configure your alert settings in the account’s profile).
  • An overview of your account; you can check quotes, balances and transactions.
  • A news feed so that you are always up to date with the latest market activity as well as a variety of financial articles on topics such as trading strategies or investing tips & tricks. You have access to research reports from other firms such as Credit Suisse, Raymond James or Goldman Sachs.
  • You can place trades on the go (you will need to create a trade ticket at least 20 minutes before the market opening) through your mobile device while you are traveling and get access to real-time quotes throughout the day; no matter where in the world you are.
  • You can set up a variety of order types such as market orders, limit and stop-losses; all through the app while using your mobile device in just a few clicks. Additionally you will receive an alert once your trade hits any price level (you have to configure this feature on E*TRADE’s app).
  • You can set up and manage your watch lists. You will receive price alerts when any of the securities that you have added to this list hits a specific target or level as well as if its volume changes by more than 5%. Once again, everything is available on the go through E*TRADE’s mobile app.
  • You can use E*TRADE Bank as your bank account for transferring funds, making deposits or withdrawals and other banking transactions at no additional cost to you (you will need to open a joint checking & savings account with one of the firm’s partners). You can also get up to $750 in overdraft protection if needed.

How to use the E*TRADE app

Once you have downloaded the E*TRADE app, input your username and password in order to log into your account. You can then use this platform for placing trades on stocks or ETFs with a market price of $5 per share or higher that are currently trading above their respective 50-day moving average line.

The platform allows you to place trades on the go and has a wealth of features such as customizable watch lists, real-time quotes for stocks or ETFs in your portfolio. It also provides users with an electronic view of their account that displays balances at all times so they can monitor them easily from any location.

You can also use the E*TRADE app to place trades on US treasuries, municipal bonds, options and mutual funds. All you have to do is input your securities account information such as ticker symbol or fund name in order for it to display all available assets based on their asset class (stocks, bonds or mutual funds).

The E*TRADE app provides you with a wide selection of order types for stocks and ETFs including market orders. You can also use the platform to place stop-losses on your trades as well so that if there is an unfavorable price movement in one direction – you can close out the trade to minimize your loss.

In addition to its online platform where customers can trade stocks, ETFs or mutual funds through a variety of order types including market orders and stop-losses; the firm also offers an Active Trader Pro platform where customers can use advanced trading strategies such as short selling.

E*TRADE’s mobile app is easy to navigate and provides a wide range of services including live streaming quotes, trade alerts for the customer’s existing positions on their desktop account and real-time market data. The trader can use this platform from anywhere in order to make trades that are executed at the same price and trade size as the customer’s order on their desktop.

The app also offers a WatchList where traders can view their watch list and add new positions. The mobile trading platform is available for both Android phones as well as iPhones, making it possible to trade on the go anytime and anywhere with E*TRADE’s free downloadable application.

What we particularly liked about E*TRADE compared to competitors is the availability of advanced trading tools. For example, short selling is not a common feature among discount brokers and this platform provides its users with the opportunity to trade using non-traditional strategies like that through their mobile app as well as on desktop platforms such as Active Trader Pro.

The E*TRADE app provides a good overall experience for its customers. The site is well organized and includes access to the company’s tools as well as educational resources, such as videos on how to trade stocks or options through their mobile devices. The site also offers a variety of educational resources for new investors and traders, such as videos on how to invest in the market.

Overall, the E*TRADE app is a great choice for traders who like to trade on their phone, but also want access to advanced trading strategies and order types beyond what’s offered by other discount brokers such as TD Ameritrade.
